If you have always wanted to know how a contemporary work of art is created, what drives a painter, object artist or performer to express themselves artistically, then “Kunstraum” is the right place for you. It shows what holds today’s art together at its core, how brushes, welding equipment or computers contribute to the creation of a work of art. In short: you experience the birth of a work of art. Pictures

What can you use to make pictures today? You can paint in the traditional way, on canvas, on glass, on walls in underpasses. But you can also draw or take photographs. Twelve films show how PICTURES are created…

Objects

New materials make new art objects possible, for example a 52 meter high sculpture made of carbon tubes. Wood, plaster or steel are more familiar materials, but a market fountain or a video object can also be created if the sculptor so wishes.

Actions:

Our world is interconnected and complex, and this is reflected in the work of performance artists. The world-famous Chinese artist Ai Weiwei is the most prominent example of this. More and more works of art are being created where social issues arise.
